Taylor Swift postpones Brazil Tour, after ‘extreme temperatures’ caused fan’s death

Taylor Swift has postponed her second concert in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil Saturday night due to the sweltering temperatures — and after one fan died from cardiac arrest ahead of her first Eras Tour show in the city.

“I’m writing this from my dressing room in the stadium. The decision has been made to postpone tonight’s show due to the extreme temperatures in Rio,” she wrote on her Instagram Story Saturday afternoon.

“The safety and well-being of my fans, fellow performers and crew always has to come first.”

It’s unclear when the concert will take place as no more information was given.

The change in plans comes after Swift, 33, mourned the loss of one of her Brazilian fans — Ana Clara Benevides — who went into cardiac arrest and died ahead of her opening Eras Tour concert in Brazil.

“I can’t believe I’m writing these words but it is with a shattered heart that I say we lost a fan earlier tonight before my show,” she penned.

“I can’t even tell you how devastated I am by this.”

She added that she would not address the upsetting loss during her concert because she is “overwhelmed with grief.”

“I want to say now I feel this loss deeply and my broken heart goes out to her family and friends,” the 12-time Grammy winner continued.

“This is the last thing I ever thought would happen when we decided to bring this tour to Brazil.”

Social media videos from the concert showed Swift pausing her show just to give parched fans water as the heat took a toll on them.
