Tamale derby ends in a stalemate

Real Tamale United played a goalless draw with Tamale City at the Aliu Mahama Stadium in match-day 21 of the Ghana Premier League.

The home team started on a higher note, having taken the game to their opponents in an intensive search for the opener. Tamale City were dealt a huge blow after one of their players fell on the pitch and couldn’t return to continue with the game.

Real Tamale United were given a free kick on the 20th minute after Kwame Boakye was clipped down for a free kick. Manaf Gumah went for it but went wide off the mark.

Manaf once again had a chance to break the deadlock but his strong shot was saved brilliantly by goalkeeper Pongo Agbeko.

Back from recess, Tamale City resumed the gamel and looked much more better, as compared to how they started the first half.

Issah Kuka broke on an explosive counter-attack in the 51st minute but a great timed clearance from Kotei Emmanuel rescued the visitors from what looked like a big threat.

The Golden Eagles mounted pressure on the host which earned them a free kick at an advantageous position. Derrick Gyamfi wasted the resultant freekick.

The match ended goalless after full time.
