Struggling Leeds United remain in relegation zone with loss at West Ham United

Leeds United remain in the relegation zone in the Premier League table courtesy of a 3-1 loss at West Ham United on Sunday afternoon.

Sam Allardyce‘s side took the lead in the 17th minute of the match, with Rodrigo on the scoresheet courtesy of an excellent volley, but Declan Rice levelled the scores on potentially his final home appearance for the Hammers.

Jarrod Bowen then registered in the 72nd minute of the contest before Manuel Lanzini added a third in the final exchanges, and the result has moved West Ham above Bournemouth and into 14th position, now boasting 40 points from 37 matches.

Leeds, though, stay inside the relegation zone, sitting 18th, two points behind 17th-placed Everton, and they would drop to 19th if Leicester City avoid defeat against Newcastle United on Monday night.

Allardyce’s side will host Tottenham Hotspur in their final game of the season next Sunday, while West Ham will travel to Leicester before switching their attention to the final of the Europa Conference League against Fiorentina, with the match taking place on June 7.
