Award-winning Ghanaian musician and traditional leader, Sparqlyn has officially released his much-anticipated new single, ‘Fameko,’ featuring the talented singer Ziya.
The song, which became a major talking point ahead of its release, finally dropped on June 8, 2026 much to the excitement of music lovers who had eagerly awaited its arrival following weeks of promotion and anticipation across traditional and social media platforms.
Produced by Sparqlyn’s longtime producer Phills Beats, “Fameko” marks a notable shift from the musical style that fans have come to associate with the former Dunsin member.
Over the years, Sparqlyn has built a reputation through his Hiplife roots and, more recently, his successful exploration of Afrobeats.
However, his latest offering sees him venture into the rich sounds of Highlife music to deliver a love-themed record.
The song, “Fameko,” has Sparqlyn and Ziya combining their vocals beautifully to celebrate love and affection with a romantic message about a lover requesting to be taken away.
Their chemistry on the track is expected to attract praise from listeners.
Sparqlyn rose to prominence as a member of the award-winning music group Dunsin before embarking on a successful solo career.
He has over the years continued to evolve musically with songs such as ‘Your Body,’ ‘Tumpa,’ ‘All Is Gone,’ ‘Jump On Me’ and many others.
Throughout his career, his artistry has earned him several notable nominations and awards, including a nomination for Hiplife Song of the Year at the 2009 Ghana Music Awards and nominations for Best Group of the Year, Best Choreography of the Year, and Best Storyline of the Year at the 2010 4Syte TV Music Video Awards as part of Dunsin.
In 2013, Dunsin achieved international recognition by winning the MUSA Awards for Most Exciting Group in Africa and Most African Video in South Africa.
The group also secured a nomination for Best Group of the Year at the 2017 Ghana Music Awards. As a solo artiste, Sparqlyn’s impact has been equally impressive, earning him the Outstanding Contribution to Ghana Music Industry and Youth Empowerment honours at the 2025 MUSIGA Awards, African Best Ghanaian Musician of the Year at the 2025 African Performance Leadership Awards (APLA), and three major honours at the 2025 Stars Awards—Africa Artiste of the Decade, Contribution to Ghana and African Music and Culture, and Youth Development Honour.
With such an enviable record of recognition behind him, many industry observers believe “Fameko” could be the next song to add another successful chapter to Sparqlyn’s award-winning musical journey.
