Spanish minister demands permanent ceasefire in war-ravaged Gaza

Spain’s Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albareshas called for a lasting ceasefire and warned of the repercussions if Israel invades Rafah.

Before an EU foreign ministers’ meeting, Albares urged the international community not to remain indifferent and to act to achieve an urgent ceasefire. Recognition of an independent Palestinian state is necessary to end the escalating violence in the Middle East.

“The possibility of the conflict spreading to Lebanon worries us because its dimensions will change, and because Lebanon is a fragile and tense state,” he warned.
