ShattaFest in the United Kingdom has been cancelled after police shut down the event over safety concerns arising from overcrowding.
According to UK police, the event was called off after the venue exceeded its approved capacity, prompting authorities to intervene to ensure public safety due to a stampede incident.
The organisers, Ghana Party in the Park, confirmed the disruption in a statement, urging patrons not to travel to the festival grounds while emergency services managed the situation.
“Due to a major incident at the festival site, the event has been temporarily paused. Please do not travel to or come to the festival site until further notice.”
It also said the emergency services and relevant authorities are currently managing the situation.
“We kindly ask everyone to stay away from the area to allow them to carry out their work safely.
We will provide further updates as soon as more information becomes available. Thank you for your patience, understanding, and cooperation.”
Shatta management issue statement
The management of Ghanaian dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has expressed profound sorrow following the cancellation of ShattaFest UK after a crowd crush outside the event venue reportedly left several people injured.
The statement read;

Following reports of a serious incident outside the venue, the difficult decision was made to cancel the event. While we await official confirmation from the relevant authorities regarding all the facts, our thoughts and prayers remain with the individuals involved, their families, their friends, and everyone impacted by this heartbreaking incident.

Stonebwoy took to X on August 1, 2026, to sympathise with those affected by the cancellation of Shatta Wale’s London show. The Ghanaian dancehall star’s message surprised many fans, given the well-documented rivalry between the two artists.
In his post, which has since racked up over 283,000 views, he wrote: “This is definitely not the kind of news any event organiser, artist, fan or promoter of the Ghana music agenda wants to hear. Our hearts go out to all those affected.”
