Sekyere Rural Bank records 71% profit

The Sekyere Rural Bank recorded a 71% increase in profit in 2021, Noble Dr. Dr. Francis Denteh, Board Chairman revealed at the 33rd Annual General Meeting of the Bank.

He said, in spite of the COVID-19 pandemic and the current economic challenges, the bank made significant progress in the year under review.

According to him, the Bank stated capital, relating to ordinary shares issued, increased from GH¢2,206,958 as the end of the 2020 toGH¢2,240,178 recording an increase of GH¢33,220 as at close of the year under review.

The Board chairman stated that, the number of shares issued also increased from 69,684,710 to 70,078,295 showing an increase of 393,585as the Bank complied with the minimum capital requirements of the Bank of Ghana.

He indicated that the Board of Directors do not recommend payment of dividend for the year based on the Bank of Ghana directive.

The Board Chairman stated that, the directors are committed to ensuring good governance in line with the Bank of Ghana directives as

a means to determining the direction and performance of the Bank.

He disclosed that, as part of the Bank’s corporate social responsibility, it constructed Security Check Post at Jamasi Health Center, donated roofing sheets to Jamasi Roman Catholic School,

Jamasi Experimental Junior High School (JHS) Speech and Prize Giving Day, Sanitisers to Asamang Government Hospital and Farmers Day Celebration at the cost of GH¢20.800.00, GhH¢9,000.00, GH¢650.00,GH¢1,800.00 and GH¢4,000.00 respectively.
