The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Sekyere Kumawu, Mr. Kwasi Amankwaa, has joined the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) to donate exercise books to students of Tweneboah Kodua Senior High School as part of efforts to improve teaching and learning in the district.

The donation, presented at a brief ceremony on the school’s campus, is aimed at providing students with essential learning materials, easing the financial burden on parents and creating better conditions for academic work.

Speaking at the presentation, Mr. Amankwaa reaffirmed the Sekyere Kumawu District Assembly’s commitment to supporting education, describing it as a critical pillar of national development.

He stressed that access to basic teaching and learning materials was necessary for effective education delivery and that no student should be placed at an academic disadvantage because of the inability to afford exercise books and other essential resources.

According to him, every student deserved the opportunity and support to excel academically, regardless of their economic background.

He urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the exercise books, describing the donation as an investment in their education and future.

Mr. Amankwaa also commended GETFund for its continued contribution to the development of education in the country, particularly through interventions aimed at improving educational infrastructure and learning conditions.

He noted that addressing the challenges facing the education sector required the collective efforts of government institutions, development partners, civil society organisations and other stakeholders.

The DCE disclosed that the Assembly would continue to strengthen its partnerships with GETFund, the Ministry of Education, non-governmental organisations and other relevant institutions to address the educational needs of schools in the district.

He explained that such collaborations would help improve school infrastructure, provide essential teaching and learning materials and create a conducive environment for effective teaching and learning.

He further assured that the Assembly remained committed to supporting educational institutions in the district to ensure that students had access to quality education and the resources needed to achieve their academic ambitions.

Management of Tweneboah Kodua Senior High School expressed appreciation to GETFund and the District Assembly for the gesture, describing the donation as timely and significant in addressing some of the learning needs of the students.

The school authorities said the exercise books would support students in their classroom activities, assignments and other academic work.

They assured the donors that the materials would be properly distributed and put to their intended use.

The students also expressed gratitude to the DCE and GETFund for the support, pledging to remain focused on their studies and work hard to make the most of the opportunity.

The donation highlights the importance of collaboration between government agencies and local authorities in providing essential educational resources and supporting the academic development of students, particularly at the second-cycle level.
