Roots Keep Fit Club supports GUSA games

Roots Keep Fit Club has donated 300 packs of water, sets of Jerseys worth GH¢30.000 and an undisclosed amount of money to the organisers of the 28th Ghana University Games in Kumasi.

The gesture formed part of the Club’s 50th Anniversary celebration.

Mr. Akwasi Opoku Adiyiah, Chairman of the Club, who presented the items to the organisers, explained that participating in games like this helped prevent illnesses like stroke, diabetes, hypertension and cardiovascular diseases.

Mr. Adiyiah indicated that water was life and one could not have effective and efficient exercise without water, hence, the club saw it prudent to support the Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) games with water, jerseys and the money for the success of the programme.

He entreated the general public to take regular exercise seriously in the quest for a healthy and longer life.

Mr. Shaibu Ibrahim, President of the GUSA, receiving the items and expressed the profound gratitude of the organisers and participating institutions to Roots Keep Fit Club for the support.

He noted that the items came at the right time and would be put to good use to serve the intended purposes.

He urged other corporate bodies and organisations to emulate the shining example of the club in supporting the GUSA games.

At the presentation ceremony were Dr. Nana Kwabena Sarfo and Mr. Kwabena Oduro, Vice Chairman and Financial Secretary respectively of the club.
