Relegation threatened Sharks hold RTU at home

Elmina Sharks Michael Asamoah’s 14th minute goal was enough to rescue a vital point at the Nduom Stadium against 15th placed Real Tamale United.

Both clubs needed the available three points to change their fortunes on the log but on the day it was RTU who looked more determined. They made their intentions clear with early surges which resulted in the first goal in the 5th minute. Victor Aidoo got the opener for the Fearsome Sharks but it was later cancelled by Michael Asamoah through a fantastic nipping stunner.

The 25-year-old midfielder has been the rescuer of Sharks with his deft skill of dazzling in the middle.

Real Tamale United must blame themselves for not protecting their lead. They could not contain the little pressure mounted by the home team and surrendered through the sweet equalizer.

The pulsating draw means Elmina Sharks must continue the fight for survival in the remaining matches as they remain holed up on the bottom and will have to continue their efforts at surviving relegation.
