The Ghana Police Service has deployed a special team of experienced investigators and intelligence officers to the Central Region to support ongoing investigations into the death of a female student of the University of Cape Coast (UCC).
The deployment was directed by the Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, as part of efforts to strengthen ongoing police operations and ensure a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the student’s death.
According to the Police Service, the special team has been tasked to reinforce existing investigative efforts in the region by providing additional technical expertise, intelligence support, and operational assistance.
The officers are expected to work closely with the Central Regional Police Command to enhance fact-finding efforts and advance inquiries into the case.
The deployment forms part of a broader operational response by the Ghana Police Service aimed at ensuring a coordinated and comprehensive investigative process.
The Police Service has assured the family of the deceased, the University of Cape Coast community, and the general public of its commitment to conducting a professional, transparent, and diligent investigation.
Police authorities said every effort would be made to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and bring clarity to the case.
The Service further appealed for calm and cooperation from the public as investigations continue.
It reiterated its commitment to ensuring that justice is served based on the outcome of the investigations.
