The Ghana Police Service has arrested three suspects in connection with a syndicate that allegedly uses taxi cabs to steal mobile phones and other valuables from unsuspecting passengers.
According to a statement posted on the Police Service’s official X platform, the suspects operate by picking up victims under the guise of providing commercial transport services, only to rob them of their belongings during the journey. The arrests are part of ongoing efforts by the police to curb rising incidents of street crime and commuter-related robberies.

The suspects are currently in police custody assisting with investigations and are expected to be arraigned in court in due course.
The Police Service has urged the public, particularly commuters, to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
