Police Arrest Suspects Seen Abusing Two Women in Viral Video

The Ghana Police Service has arrested ten suspects in connection with a viral video showing two young women being physically abused in Wassa Dawuranpong.

The women were reportedly accused of stealing money from a gold buying shop. The announcement was made via the official X handle of the Police Service.

Three of the suspects Eric Donkor (@Killer Block), 32; Yaw Gyimah, 29; and Edmond Nartey, 24were seen in the video allegedly cutting the victims’ scalps with a razor. Another suspect, Tawiah (@Awaga), who also appeared in the video, remains at large.

Seven other individuals : Stephen Amu, 24; Farouk Balas, 18; Mensah Bernard, 18; Adu Baggeo, 23; Bismark Nyarko, 30; Akwesi Poku George, 18; and Oteng Alfred, 23—have been arrested for aiding and abetting the offence.

The suspects are currently undergoing screening, and the main perpetrators are expected to be arraigned in court. Police authorities are also working to locate the victims and ensure they receive medical treatment.

The Western Central Regional Police Command has cautioned the public against taking the law into their own hands, stressing that all arrested individuals must be handed over to the police to face due process.
