Nuhu Mahama now Student Loan Trust Fund new CEO

Nuhu Bayorbo Mahama has been appointed the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Student Loan Trust Fund (SLTF).

The appointment was conveyed in a letter from the Office of the President, dated January 2, 2024 and signed by Akosua Frama Osei-Opare, Chief of Staff.

His appointment was in accordance to Section 13 (1) of the Students Loan Trust Fund Act, 2011 (Act 820), as amended.

This appointment was to bring Mr Mahama’s financial and insurance expertise onboard, to push the government’s commitment in ensuring accessible and sustainable financial support for tertiary education in Ghana.

Already, President Akufo-Addo’s vision had been a broader educational accessibility and financial support for students pursuing higher education.

As a result, Madam Frema extended her warm congratulations to Mr. Mahama on his appointment, and emphasised the President’s confidence in his leadership capabilities.

The Chief of Staff encouraged him to respond to the letter within 14 days to confirm acceptance of the role.

With Mr. Mahama’s mobilisation, research, leadership roles and academic achievements, the Trust Fund is expected to attain a new height.
