A new mixed-use residential facility, Nuela Apartments, has been opened in East Legon as Ghana continues efforts to address its housing deficit, currently estimated at more than 1.8 million units.

The national shortage has prompted both government and private developers to increase investment in modern housing solutions, particularly in urban centres, where demand continues to rise.

Recent interventions include public–private partnerships and support schemes aimed at expanding access to safe and dignified accommodation.

The newly unveiled Nuela Apartments represents one of the latest private-sector additions to the housing landscape.

Located in the East Legon enclave, the development features a combination of residential units and hospitality services targeted at both long-term occupants and short-stay guests.

The facility includes furnished suites, internet access, a fitness centre, rooftop lounge, security systems, parking, and a reception and concierge area.

Management describes the project as suitable for individuals seeking accommodation within close proximity to commercial areas, restaurants and Kotoka International Airport.

At the launch ceremony, Real Estate Broker Miss Lillian Nartey, noted that contributions from private developers remain essential in easing pressure on Ghana’s urban housing demand.

She added that projects such as Nuela Apartments signal increased private-sector interest in expanding residential options in Accra.
