Dr Joseph Esibu has unseated the incumbent Central Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Percy Dennis Quaicoe to emerge as the new Chairman.
In a straight forward battle between the two, Esibu polled 278 votes to beat Percy Dennis who secured 161 votes in the election held over the at Mankessim today 15th August 2026.
The defeat of Dennis is the biggest headline from the polls as some other incumbents he ruled with, managed to retain their positions at the regional level.
In other key results, Kojo Halm was elected 1st Vice Chairman with 271 votes against Kingsley K Bondzi’s 167 votes.
Meshack Kweku Amoafo won the 2nd Vice Chairman position with 220 votes to defeat Betty Adwoa Nyantakyiwaa who had 97 votes and Samuel Ghartey with 120 votes.
Incumbent Regional Secretary Takyi Mensah retained his seat with 283 votes against Armstrong Esaah’s 157 votes.
At the Assistant Secretary position, incumbent Charles Odoomwas retained with 257 votes to beat Eunice Darkor who polled 178 votes.
Anthony Sackey also retained the Organizer position with a wide margin of 333 votes against Anthoney Appiah’s 72 votes.
Francis Asare kept the Treasurer slot with 244 votes, beating Mustapha Mohammed who had 196 votes.
Odeneho Kwakye Appiah won the Youth Organizer race with 189 votes. He defeated Lawrence Edutuah Essiaw with 131 votes and David Essandoh with 118 votes.
Agyeman Asiedu is the new Communication Director after polling 233 votes. He beat incumbent Isaac Mensah who had 118 votes and Noah Osei Assenso with 85 votes.
Incumbent Women’s Organizer Charlotte Adwo Antwi also retained her position with 302 votes against Carolyn Aboagyepopularly known as Ahema’s136 votes.
For the Nasara Coordinator position, King Dgagada won with 207 votes. He beat Sumila Kabore with 161 votes and incumbent Abubakar Osman who polled 70 votes.
The elections were held at Manner Height Hotel in Mankessim.
