Oheneba Nana Akwasi Yamoah and Nana Kwadwo Danso have been installed as the new Mmawerehene and Chief Linguist respectively for Dunkwa-on-Offin. The two have since sworn the oath of allegiance to the Dunkwahene, Okofrobour Obeng Nuarko III, during the last Akwasidae.
Okofrobour Obeng Nuako advised the newly installed Maawerehene of Dunkwa to always avail themselves when duty calls and to remain submissive to all manner of people, devoid of arrogance, while remaining submissive and using their rich experience, hard work and wisdom to help develop the Dunkwa Traditional Area.
The Dunkwahene stated that the new chiefs had been accepted as a result of background checks on their character and conduct and was satisfied that they were fit for purpose, hence the opportunity to serve on the Traditional Council to ensure the total development of the area.
Nana Akwasi Yamoah and Nana Kwadwo Danso, the newly installed Maawerehene and Chief Linguist of the Dunkwa Traditional Area, expressed gratitude to Okofrobour Obeng Nuako, the Kingmakers and the Traditional Council, for the honour done them and accepted the sacred responsibility of serving the Traditional Council as Maawerehene and Chief Linguist.
According to him, they do not take the confidence reposed in them for granted, considering the event as the beginning of a lifelong commitment to serve because leadership is not about privilege, but about responsibility, which calls for wisdom, humility, sacrifice and an unwavering dedication to the welfare of the people.
The two new chiefs pledged to lead with honesty, fairness, respect and compassion and always work first and foremost for the interests of the people.
Nana Yamoah and Nana Kwadwo Danso called for unity and support to work towards the development of the area.
