Moree Bentsir Electoral Assembly Member honoured

The Assembly Member for the Bentsir Electoral Area in Moree, in the Abura-Asebu-Kwaamankese district, Mr Mathew Kow Kakra Boison, has been adjudged the best Assembly Member in the town.

The prestige, which has been bestowed on him, followed his selfless leadership qualities, exceptional commitment to working to improve the lives of his people and Moree at large. Mr Amoah has, therefore, become the first recipient of the maiden award, which was organised by Emintsemadze Nkabom Palace, in collaboration with Global Giants Consult.

The purpose of the maiden awards’ Night was to recognise and appreciate the role and contributions of individuals to the development of the community in all spheres of life.

In the Assembly Members’ category, Mr Boison stood tall among all the other five Assembly Members in Moree, hence his winning of the award.

In an interview with The Chronicle, Mr Boison explained that he has always being worried about the lack of development in the community.

In view of this, he said, “I did the little that I could in my own small way and the joy of the people and their appreciation for my efforts bolstered me to do more”.

He added that “I committed myself to doing something to help my people even before I became the Assembly Member in 2014 and I never looked back”.

With his own resources, Mr Boison singularly constructed about seven wooden footbridges on some big drains in the town, to aid the movement of the people.

He again modernised the public female bathhouse by tiling both the walls and the floor and renovated one of the public toilets in the town to discourage open defecation.

Apart from his annual donations to the vulnerable and the aged, Mr Boison also went to the aide of an old man by renovating his dilapidated house, which was a death trap.

These and several other voluntary and benevolence works by Mr Boison have endeared him to the hearts of the people, for which reason he was re-elected in 2019.

Following his hard work and desire to improve the livelihoods of his people, he became the Urban Council Chairman in November last year.

He has, therefore, promised to do more to improve the life of the people, especially in the fight against open defecation in his electoral area and the community as a whole.
