Missing ‘Abongo man’ found

Police in the Central Region have found the senior military officer who was reported missing by the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).

Lt-Col Peter Amoah was reportedly found unconscious in a classroom at Senya Breku in the Central Region.

According to a statement from the police, he was handed to the military authorities.

The military medically evacuated him from the Winneba Trauma Hospital to the 37 Military Hospital in Accra.

Both police and military sources hinted of investigation into circumstances leading to the senior officer leaving his residence at Burma Camp to Senya Breku.

Lt-Col Amoah graduated from the Ghana Military Academy in 2004 where he was adjudged the Best Cadet and received the Sword of Honour.

He was an instructor at the Army Recruits Training School (ARTS), Shai Hills and later the Second-in-Command at the Jungle Warfare School (JWS).

He became the substantive Commanding Officer of the school until recently, when he was sent to the General Headquarters at Burma Camp.
