Mercy Johnson has allegedly caused the arrest of fellow Nollywood actress Angela Okorie over a cybercrime matter.
Okorie was reportedly taken into custody at her Lagos residence on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, by operatives from the Nigeria Police Force Cybercrime Centre in Abuja.
She spent the night at Yaba Panti Police Station before being flown to Abuja early Wednesday for court proceedings.
Angela Okorie, originally from Cotonou in Benin Republic, is a Nigerian actress known for movies such as Sincerity, Holy Serpent, and Divorce Not Allowed.
She began acting in 2009 and has appeared in more than 80 films. Mercy Johnson Okojie, from Delta State, is a veteran actress with over 150 films to her name, including 30 Days in Atlanta, Thy Will Be Done, and Something Like Gold.
Journalist Seun Oloketuyi confirmed the arrest on Wednesday, noting that it is connected to a cybercrime case involving Mercy Johnson.
The development follows Johnson’s earlier statement that cyberbullying her and her family would not be tolerated in 2026. Court proceedings are now underway in Abuja to address the matter.
