Melcom celebrates late Founder; Supports Flood Victims in V/R

The Melcom Care Foundation, under the auspices of the Melcom Group of Companies, came together to celebrate the life and legacy of the late Founder of the Group, Mr. Bhagwan R. Khubchandani, who passed away three years ago.

The event, which was held at the Melcom Plus store at North Kaneshie, began with a health walk to commemorate the occasion.

During the event, members of the Melcom Group paid tribute to Mr. Khubchandani by hoisting a flag, after which they also lighted a lamp as well.

They also highlighted his significant contributions to the growth and success of the company. His vision and leadership were fondly remembered by all.

Speaking at the event, the Group Director of Communications, Godwin Avenorgbo, expressed gratitude to everyone who participated in the health walk.

He further added that, “we celebrate today the life of a visionary leader whose love for Ghana grew beyond bounds, right from his youthful days.

Mr. Bhagwan Ramchand Khubchandani had a very creative mind, backed by enviable business

acumen.”

Mr. Avenorgbo emphasised that he was a giver for the public good, who invested heavily in the creation of a support system, which has become known as the Melcom Care Foundation, the main Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative Platform for the Melcom Group of Companies.

In addition to honouring their late founder, the Melcom Care Foundation also took the opportunity to give back to the community by making a generous donation to flood victims in the Volta region, especially the North and South Tongu.

“In response to humanity, they are extending a hand of support to two out of the four districts of the Volta Region which were badly affected by the Volta Dam Spillage.

“We have been made aware that quite a number of people in the South Tongu and Ketu South Districts have lost their homes and personal belongings and are perching with family and friends even as at now”, he shared.

The donation is aimed at providing much-needed support and relief to those affected by the recent floods in the area.

The Foundation reiterated its commitment to supporting communities in need and making a positive impact wherever possible.
