Medeama shock RTU in Tamale

A lone goal from Patrick Kofi Ansu secured Medeama’s first-ever away win of the ongoing Ghana Premier League season against Real Tamale United (RTU) on Sunday afternoon.

Real Tamale United suffered their first home loss to Medeama in the match-day seven clash at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium.

Medeama commenced the fixture on a good note with an intense pressure on the home side which eventually gave them the opener before the half-hour mark.

Young striker Patrick Kofi Ansu fired up for the Yellow and Mauves lads with a brilliant strike which silenced the fans of Real Tamale United on the 18th minute of the game.

Real Tamale United gained possession to dominate the game after conceding the goal as they launched fearsome attacks on the back line of Medeama.

Ivorian goalkeeper Boris Junior Manji made a magnificent save to deny Ishmael Nketiah from levelling the score through a header on the 32nd minute.

Medeama looked calm to hold on their 1-0 advantage to end the first half at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium.

Back from the break, Medeama introduced Godfred Kwadwo Asamoah and King Archerson as replacements for Tetteh Zutah and Amed Toure.

Medeama nearly registered another through Justice Blay and Kwasi Donsu but their attempt went wide.

RTU tried their lucks on numerous occasions but none handed them the equalizer as the entire duration of the game ended in a 1-0 win in favor of Medeama.
