Head coach of Medeama Sporting Club, Ibrahim Tanko is targeting victory and a clean sheet when his outfit takes on TP Mazembe in the first preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.
The Yellow and Mauve will host the Congolese giants at the TNA Stadium on Sunday, August 6, 2026 before traveling to Kinshasa for the decisive return fixture, slated for 11-13 September.
After triumphing over Nations FC in the Champion of Champions at the weekend, the former Cameroon and Ghana assistant gaffer has set sights on securing a respectable scoreline against TP Mazembe in the first clash.
“The approach is to win without conceding against TP Mazembe. We are going to prepare very well because we are playing against a big club,” he said.
Medeama will be hoping to make an impressive run in the Champions League after earning the right to represent Ghana following their success in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League campaign.
Should Medeama progress ahead of TP Mazembe, they will face either Tunisian football powerhouse Club Africain or Malian side, Djoliba AC.
