Market women laud Akuapem South MCE …for giving Aburi Market a facelift

The Aburi Market Queenmother, Madam Felicia Koranteng, has heaped praises on the management of the Akuapem South Assembly, led by Frank Aidoo, for giving a facelift to the Aburi Market.

The Aburi Market Queenmother described the MCE as a listening and proactive leader, who welcomed his developmental shortfalls and finds lasting solutions to them where necessary.

A few months ago, the people of Aburi pleaded with the Municipal Assembly, stakeholders, and authorities to find solutions to the deplorable state of the market to improve buying and selling of goods and services.

She indicated that the facelift would not only improve upon businesses in the municipality, but help the Assembly to improve on its Internal Generated Funds (IGF) collection.

The market women had been bemoaning low patronage due to the poor sanitary conditions and insecure nature of the place.

But the Akuapem South Municipal Assembly has now provided a new market center for the people of Aburi and its environs to boost patronage of goods and services in the municipality.

The Municipal Chief Executive of Akuapem South Municipality, Frank Aidoo, during the inauguration ceremony, charged the market women to take good care of the place and honour their taxes to the Assembly.

He further urged the traders to help expand the market and contribute to the development of the country by paying their taxes.
