Malawi wants Mike Tyson to be country’s cannabis ambassador

The Agriculture Ministry of Malawi has written to former world heavyweight boxing champion, Mike Tyson, requesting him to be the country’s cannabis ambassador.

Malawi legalized cannabis last year, which has created local and international opportunities for the country. The Ministry said the United States Cannabis Association was facilitating the deal with Tyson who has investments in cannabis farm.

“Malawi may not go it alone as the industry is complex requiring collaboration. I would therefore like to appoint you, Mr Mike Tyson, as Malawi’s Cannabis Branch ambassador,” Mr Lowe wrote.

Malawian cannabis, popularly known as Malawi gold has been touted to be one of the finest in the world.

Reports are that, Mike Tyson was expected in Malawi last week but his visit could not see the light of day.
