League leaders Arsenal travel to Brentford

The passing of Queen Elizabeth II has seen the Gunners’ last two scheduled fixtures postponed, but the Premier League revealed earlier this week that Arsenal’s upcoming trip to Brentford is one of seven games going ahead in the top flight this weekend.

Their previous visit to the Community Stadium was nothing short of harrowing. Mikel Arteta’s side were bullied amid a 2-0 defeat on opening night last season, but the Gunners have evolved considerably since. While they tasted defeat in the league last time out, Arsenal remain top of the Premier League table heading into Matchday 7.

Brentford, meanwhile, have also enjoyed a bright start to the new season and they currently sit eighth in the table. Thomas Frank’s side are built around the brilliance of Ivan Toney and the criminally underrated Bryan Mbuemo in attack, and the Bees are well-placed to take advantage of the Gunners’ weakness in defensive transition.
