Lawyer Samuel Sarfo Duku has declared his intention to contest for the Ashanti Regional Secretary position of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), ahead of the 2028 general elections.
According to him, with the party riding on the unprecedented performance of President John Dramani Mahama’s administration and the legacy he will leave behind, it is incumbent on the NDC to retain power in 2028.
He added that to make victory a mere formality, the party needs a person of his calibre to run its affairs in the region.
Speaking to the media in Kumasi, he explained that his track record in both public and private service testifies that he is more than capable and ready to step into the shoes of Dr. Frank Amoakohene, now the Ashanti Regional Minister.
According to him, he is confident and has a proactive mindset that focuses on solutions, embraces resilience and expects favourable outcomes.
He claims he does not ignore reality or deny negative emotions, but instead, he empowers people to take control of their circumstances rather than being victims of them.
Lawyer Sarfo Duku promised to maximize the NDC’s votes in the region to ensure that the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) becomes less popular among the electorate.
He disclosed that when the NDC is able to dominate votes in the Ashanti Region, winning the national elections becomes easier.
