Mr. Lawrence Kofi Abedu Aubyn, a Tema based Professional Sports Management expert, has been appointed Sporting Director of the Sameul Inkoom Football Academy, responsible for the strategic planning, operational governance and institutional development of the Academy.
Mr. Aubyn, who also serves as Co-Founder of Africa x (AXT), a 360-degree athlete lifecycle management agency for West Africa, holds an MSc degree in International Sports Management (Merit) from the European Sports Business School in Valencia, alongside a B.A. Hons in Economics and Arabic from the University of Ghana.
His academic and professional background centers on professionalising sport management structures in emerging African sport economies, bridging strategic business practice with athlete development.
Mr. Aubyn brings a strong administrative and analytical foundation and commercial strategy to the Samuel Inkoom Football Academy, founded 4 years ago under the leadership of its Chairman, Samuel Inkoom, a former Ghana Black Stars player and highly rated defender who made his mark as a Right Back at both the national and international levels.
After 4 years of steady development, the Academy, based at Kasoa in the Central Region of Ghana, achieved a remarkable milestone this football season, by remaining unbeaten throughout the league and won the Division 3 league. As a result, the Academy also gained promotion to Ghana’s Division 2 football league.
The Club’s progress has been driven by a strong administrative and technical structure, with key departments supervised by a leadership team consisting of a Sporting Director, General Manager, Technical Director and Operational Manager, working together under the Chairman.
In a related development, Lawyer Thomas Kweku Aubyn of Thomas Aubyn Law Consult and former Member of Parliament of Gomoa East has been appointed as the Life Patron of the Academy.
At the same ceremony to celebrate the successes of the Academy, Mr. Kweku Sersah-Johnson, Technical Advisor at the Right to Information Commission (RTIC), a Communication and Public Outreach Specialist was appointed a Patron of the Academy.
Mr. Inkoom said the appointments were strategic, aimed at strengthening the administrative, managerial and professional aspect of the Club, with the objective of unearthing talents and enhancing football development in the country and the world at large.
