A Kumasi-based Non-Governmental Organisation, Grateful Hearts, has donated life-support items, comprising wheelchairs, crutches and walking sticks to over 100 persons living with disabilities (PWDs).

The Founder of the organisation, Mr. Akwasi Kyei Danso, who is also the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Regional Director of Communication, advised families to provide relations with disabilities with the necessary support to be productive in society.

He gave the assurance that Grateful Hearts would ensure that persons living with disabilities were given the needed support to be productive enough, so that they would not resort to begging on the streets.

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Kwadaso Constituency, Dr. Kingsley Nyarkoh, urged PWDs to take advantage of government policies to improve their living conditions.

According to him, the government had rolled out a lot of policies which would inure to their benefit.

The former Ghana Ambassador to China, His Excellency Edward Boateng, who is a Patron of Grateful Hearts, pledged his unflinching support for the members, and promised to foot the bills of any PWD who expresses interest to enroll at any Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) school in the country.

The beneficiaries expressed their profound gratitude to Mr. Akwasi Kyei and his group for their kind gesture.
