Kotoko drop points against Karela

Asante Kotoko dropped points for the first time this season but remain unbeaten following their goalless draw against Karela United.

The Porcupine Warriors went into the game determined to avoid defeat and they achieved it with a resilient performance at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park.

Karela were the dominant side and had the best opportunities with Kotoko having to defend gallantly.

In the 63rd minute, Kotoko were reduced to 10 men as midfielder Richard Boadu was sent off for a bad foul.

Goalkeeper Razak Abalora pulled off a fantastic save to deny Karela what could have been the winner in the 85th minute.

With the result, Kotoko stay on top of the table, three more points ahead of second-placed King Faisal.

Karela would feel disappointed because the result leaves them in 11th position with six points after five games.
