Kingsley Agyemang registers over 12,000 people in Abuakwa South onto NHIS; more to benefit this month

Some 12,243 people in the Abuakwa South Constituency in the Eastern Region have been registered for free on the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).
The exercise, which has benefited about 12 towns in the constituency so far, was funded by the Registrar of the Ghana Scholarship Secretariat, Mr. Kingsley Agyemang. Other towns are set to be insured this month.
Though he hails from Asiakwa, the registration was spearheaded by Kingsley Keep Fit Club, which benefited people from Kyebi, Asikam and other surrounding places.

At Kyebi 3,394 people were registered onto the scheme. Asiakwa, Bunso and Apedwa had 2,308 and 1,176 and 1,119 respectively.

When the registration team entered the Apedwa Township, 827 people were registered and 764 also registered at Akwadum Domeabra.

At Asikam, 703 residents were registered, with 693 getting the opportunity at Adukroum. Another town in the constituency, Sagyimase, recorded 604, Ahwenease got 276, Adadientem had 246 and Afiesa got 115.

This month has been dedicated to the following areas: Wirenkyiren-AAmanfrom, Odumase, Kwasi Komfo, Aposs, and Potroase.

The free NHIS registration was one of several initiatives undertaken by Kingsley Agyemang in the Abuakwa South Constituency.
He has impacted the constituency through the introduction of the Kingsley Maths and Science

Quiz, the Kingsley Spelling Bee Challenge, the Kingsley Educational Mentorship Program and Vacation classes.

The mentorship progamme, dubbed ‘Time With Kingsley Series’ is a coaching and mentoring programme for Senior High School students in the constituency. These students have the opportunity of meeting experts in various fields to guide and mentor them in their career choices.
The educational projects, particularly the Math and Science Quiz have seen some contestants excel in their respective Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) and the West African Examination Council (WASSCE).

Mr. Kingsley Agyemang seems to have won the hearts of many in the constituency, including the leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Over the weekend, the constituency director of communications, Felix Nyarko Acheampong, made a post on Facebook with pictures showing that he had visited the centre for the vacation classes last Friday and it was well organised.

According to him, he came to terms with the fact that “three separate interventions, initiated by the same Registrar: the Kingsley Vacation Classes, the Akosua Agyeiwaa Memorial Methodist JHS and the Kingsley Maths and Science Quiz had been bundled together in one setting, and the reality of a better constructed future for Abuakwa South eventually dawned on me, thanks to Dr. Kingsley Agyemang.”

Kingsley Agyemang initiated the vacation classes, built the Akosua Agyeiwaa Memorial Methodist JHS that is hosting the vacation classes and also rolled out the Kingsley Maths and Science Quiz.

Mr. Kingsley Agyemang is tipped to contest the upcoming parliamentary primary to represent the constituency in Parliament on the ticket of the NPP.
