Alhaji Muntaka Mubarak, the Minister for Interior and Member of Parliament for Asawase, and Mr Sadat Anwel Ahmed the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Oforikrom, with support from Qatar Charity Foundation have built and commissioned a health clinic for the Ayigya Zongo Community. The clinic comprises a vaccination ward, medical examination room, maternity ward, and male and female wards. Mr. Sadat Anwel Ahmed commended the Interior Minister for his efforts to ensure the facility was completed on time.
He said Alhaji Muntaka has lessened the burden on the Municipality in its quest to improve the living standards of the people of Asawase and Oforikrom, and has fought for the Ashanti Region as a whole, while prioritising Zongo communities in the region.
Alhaji Muntaka Mubarak for his part said the clinic would bring quality and accessible healthcare to the people, stressing that health is not a luxury. He said the facility would also create jobs and empower local people. He promised to collaborate with colleagues in Parliament to ensure development reaches the people in the Ashanti Region.

Alhaji Muntaka noted that security and health are two sides of the same coin. He urged health workers to maintain the facility and keep it fit for purpose, and entreated community members to protect it. He urged the Assembly to fence the facility to protect the workers and promised to provide a bungalow for staff.
According to him, he would not be an MP for only the electorates of Asawase, but for the people of Ashanti to ensure that they get their fair share of the national cake. The Country Director of Qatar Charity Foundation, Hasan Owda, expressed the organisation’s commitment to continue working with all partners and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to bring quality healthcare to the people.

Hasan Owda, Qatar Charity Foundation Country Director for Qatar Charity Foundation, commended all contributors, noting that “healthcare is essential in our lives”, and lauded community leaders for achieving the milestone.
He said Qatar Charity Foundation would continue to work hand in hand to help Ghana and expressed its commitment to improving healthcare delivery in communities.
He added that healthcare delivery could be achieved through a comprehensive approach and community support, and that Qatar would always stand behind Ghana, pledging to support the Minister for the Interior whenever needed.
