After calling on football stakeholders to understand sportsmanship, the Member of Parliament called on the new IGP to intensify the new security details adopted by the GPL following the death of Kumasi Asante Kotoko fan Francis “Pooley” Frimpong.
“We all agree that after Pooley’s incident, security measures have enhanced. I’m urging the new IGP to intensify measures to ensure that never again should we see such levels of violence in our football. Progress is being made so far but we need to do a lot more.”
“We need to intensify education; it doesn’t matter the (security) measures you put in place, without education, we are not going to get the desired results but I must say, progress is being made.”
