Pastor Dr. Kwanim Kwakye presenting Bible to the new ordained Pastors on behalf of the SDA Church

Pastor Dr. Kwame Kwanim Boakye, President of the Northern Ghana Union Conference of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church, has expressed worry over the indulgence of churches in politics for the sake of fame, power and riches.

He noted that pastors were neglecting the Word of God and resorting to politics, the reason why churches were becoming more corrupt at an unimaginable rate lately.

Speaking at a joint ordination service of three pastors into the Gospel Ministry at the Central Ghana Conference Headquarters at Kwadaso, he stated that pastors of today would not preach salvation and eternal life, but have opted to do politics to make quick monies by preaching wealth, claiming to take away death from people, and acquisition of visas, just because they need power, fame, and money in addition to womanising or engaging in adultery at the expense of the vulnerable in society, and their congregations.

He reminded the ordained pastors to take the path of righteousness as they were preparing to commit themselves to God, in accordance with the biblical truth at a time churches were digressing the path of righteousness.

According to him, the people of today do not like the Word of God, and even Ministers of the Gospel now set in the direction of God just to become famous and powerful.

He urged the ordained to avail their services to the people devoid of deceit and exploitation.

Speaking on the theme: “There to be the people of God in time of waiting,” he was of the view that their leadership was in crisis today because some people were fed up with waiting for the second coming of Christ, hence, the change in Christendom, paving the way for modern Christians who expect only miracles, thinking God was delaying.

Pastor Boakye, however, tasked the ordained to observe all the laws in the time of waiting for God, cautioning that “if only we endures him, he would rise with us, but if we deny him, he would deny us, for he is ever faithful,” he underscored.

The President of NGUC of the SDA reminded them that human beings do not belong to darkness and adultery, and challenged them to wake-up and present the truth in more remarkable manners, and must not accept the demands of the people by neglecting God’s word.

Pastor Yaw Asamoah, President of Central Ghana Conference of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA), at the ordination, noted that as a young pastors he was convinced that they would help grow the church and help the entire youth in their jurisdictions, and the country as a whole, in reshaping their lives in the right direction to take up leadership roles in future.

The three ordained included Pastors Fetus Kwaku Appiagyei, Derrick Agyei Yeboah and Arituo Kyilleh.

Pastor Festus Kwaku Appiagyei, on behalf of his colleagues, commended the entire SDA Church for the support, both in kind or cash, by making their dreams come true to the call of God to work in his vineyard.

He expressed their profound gratitude to their district Pastors, the local churches members and their wives for their assistance, encouragement guidance in a diverse ways to see them through the journey.
