IGP Tetteh Yohuno Reshuffles ‘Police Cabinet’

Commissioner of Police (COP) Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah has been given a role by the new Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr Christian Tetteh Yohuno, after serving as the head of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).

Until President Mahama took office, the former head of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service was in charge of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), following her appointment by former President Akufo-Addo.

As the second-in-command at the CID headquarters, she had earlier taken over as CID boss in 2017, when the then CID head, COP Bright Oduro was ordered to proceed on his terminal leave, pending his retirement in January 2018.

About two weeks into his tenure, President Mahama appointed a new person to head EOCO, meaning that COP Tiwaa Addo-Danquah had to return to the Police Headquarters.

After her return to the police headquarters, the new IGP, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, reassigned her.

She will now oversee research, policy development and strategic planning for the police service.

A statement issued by the Police Service on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 indicated that IGP Yohuno had reconstituted the Police Management Board.

Signed by the ACP Grace Ansah-Akrofi, Director of Public Affairs Department, the release said the changes were “to ensure effective management and operational control of the Ghana Police Service.”
