Celebrated broadcaster, DJ Andy Dosty has claimed he was the first DJ to introduce gospel music into nightclub settings, insisting that mixing gospel songs with other genres in clubs is not a recent development.

In an interview on Angel FM, he recalled facing criticism when he first introduced the concept and played gospel music in clubs.

According to him, he experimented with the idea about three times before complaints began emerging from sections of the public.

“When I started it and did it about three times, then complaints started coming. People were writing concerns on Graphic Showbiz,” he recounted.

Andy Dosty said the criticism eventually attracted media attention, with radio stations seeking his response.

He particularly recalled an interview he granted Peace FM, describing it as a strong encounter during the controversy.

“I remember very well that one interview I did that was very strong was with Peace FM,” he said.

He maintained that the blending of gospel music with other genres in clubs has been happening for years, contrary to suggestions that it is a recent trend.
