Hearts of Oak had their first training at their new training complex at Pobiman on Tuesday, this week. Hearts of Oak commenced the construction of their new Pobiman training complex last year. The prefabricated project consists of training pitches, hostel facilities and offices to house the senior team, Academy and staff.
Meanwhile, Hearts will face Malian side AS Real de Bamako in the second preliminary round of this season’s CAF Confederation Cup. The Phobians were exempted from the first preliminary round after being ranked amongst the top sides in the competition.
Real de Bamako eliminated Burkina Faso club AS Douanes on Tuesday to confirm their fixture against Hearts which will take place next month.
The Malians saw off AS Douanes after winning 3-1 on post match penalty shootouts after 0-0 aggregate scoreline after two legs.
Real de Bamako are the third force of Malian after Djoliba AC and Stade Malien. They have six championship titles and ten Malian Cup triumphs.
Hearts failed to make it to the group stage last season as they were eliminated by Algerian side JS Saoura in the play-off round.
The Phobians won the maiden edition of the Confederation Cup in 2004 beating bitterest rivals Asante Kotoko in the final.
