The Intake 12 Foundation, an initiative born from the Twelfth Recruit Intake of the Ghana Immigration Service, has commemorated its first anniversary with a remarkable show of purpose and impact.
At a vibrant ceremony held on May 1, 2025 at the Victory Presbyterian Church, in Adenta, Frafraha, the Foundation officially launched its charitable fund, raising approximately GHS 22,000 to support its growing portfolio of community and welfare interventions.
Held under the theme, ‘Celebrating a Year of Impact and Growth,” the event brought together Immigration officers, patrons, community leaders and stakeholders committed to deepening social development and humanitarian efforts across Ghana.
The Guest Speaker, Deputy Commissioner of Immigration (DCOI) Scholastica Afua Mensah, lauded the Foundation for its vision and transformative impact within just one year of existence.
She described the initiative as a “shining example of service-driven social impact” and urged members to adopt innovative fundraising strategies, particularly the smart use of social media and structured crowdfunding platforms, to sustain their growth.
DCOI Mensah also emphasised the importance of leadership continuity and transparency to ensure the Foundation’s long-term relevance.
Foundation President, Mr. Moses Biney, highlighted key milestones and noting the journey from informal beginnings in April 2023 to formal registration in May 2024.
“In just one year, we have united our members under a common vision of service and built a platform that is truly making a difference,” he said.
In a show of kind gesture of support, Mr. Biney presented three laptops donated by Foundation Patron, Mr. Denis Kenzie Foli Nador, to three key committees to strengthen operational efficiency.
The ceremony also saw the presentation of certificates of recognition to members whose outstanding commitment has propelled the Foundation forward.
Public Relations Officer, Mr. Prince Kwao Aboagye, detailed the Foundation’s notable accomplishments over the past year, including;
- Donations of sanitary pads to Pantang Hospital,
- Financial assistance to sick members and bereaved families of deceased colleagues,
- Collaborations with non-governmental organisations to deliver aid to vulnerable communities.
Mr. Denis Kenzie Foli Nador, Patron of the Foundation and Chairman of the newly inaugurated Fund Committee, assured attendees of strict financial accountability and transparency in managing all contributions.
“This fund will be a vehicle for hope, development, and timely response to the needs of the underprivileged. We call on all well-meaning individuals and institutions to support this cause,” he appealed.
Founded with the motto, “Together for a Better World,” the Intake 12 Foundation envisions a just and equitable society where basic needs are met, dignity is restored, and community welfare is prioritized.
The Foundation supports its members and society at large through education, vocational training, humanitarian relief, and sustainable development initiatives.
The anniversary event also featured stirring musical performances from the Akuapem Melodic Choir and a captivating cultural display by the Tower of Liberty Cultural Troupe, which added rich cultural flair to the celebration.
As the Foundation embarks on its second year, its leadership has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening community ties, promoting peace and inclusion, and driving sustainable development through compassionate action and collaboration.
