Ghana Real Estates provides platform for public, private institutions

Ghana Real Estates has organised the third edition of its flagship event that aims at providing a platform for interactions between public and private institutions. The event, dubbed “The Ghana Real Estate Meet Up,” was held last Friday in Accra, and organised by CAMEO 1 Homes.

The event brought together resource persons from various institutions to discuss topics such as; Investment Sourcing, Home Ownership, Mortgage Financing, Insurance, Standards and Certification and other relevant issues concerning the real estate industry.

The event brought together stakeholders from the Ministry of Works and Housing, Rent Control Ghana, Electricity Company of Ghana, and Energy Commission among others.

The event also created an avenue for investment pitching for infrastructure development, and provided a platform for interactions between public and private institutions.

Addressing the gathering, the Western Regional Minister, Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah, said the government had voted US$580 million for the extension of the railway line from Ehyiem to Preastea, and as such, the project would attract real estate development for the workers.

He went on to say the project would also generate real estate opportunities for individuals such as agents, investors, and contractors.

He disclosed that the government was willing to work with private partners on state lands, adding that investors should come up with concepts for the project. “We have a lot of major production works coming up that will also need real estate investments, an example being the petro chemical hub.”

He urged investors to invest in the Western Region because it has low tax rates, unlike in the Greater Accra region, which has high tax rates.

The Chief Executive Officer of CAMEO 1 Homes, Augustine Ewiah, in an interview with The Chronicle noted that his organisation has seen great improvements over the years and thus decided to involve government and Real Estates investors in the third edition of “The Ghana Real Estate meet up” event.

Mr Ewiah continued that the Ghana real estate industry is a great investment to be part of, and as such urged individuals to venture into this great initiative
