Ghana Post honours Otumfuo …Commemorative Post Stamp to be unveiled on Vals Day

The citation of appreciation

The Board and Management of Ghana Post Company Limited, led by the Managing Director (MD), Mr. Bice Obour Osei Kuffour, last week Thursday, paid a courtesy call on the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.

The visit formed part of the annual ritual of the company to pay homage to the Ashanti King and reaffirm its relationship with him, and to express appreciation for the continuous support and good counsel of the King towards the effective operations of the company over the years.

During the visit, Ghana Post presented a citation of appreciation to the Overlord of the Ashanti Kingdom, and also presented a digital letter box to be installed at Manhyia Palace.

The citation said in part: “Kings come and go, but your (Otumfuo) legacy will outlast generations. The impact of your kingship deepens the relevance of culture in a 21st Century world.”

The MD, Mr. Bice Obour Osei Kuffour announced that the management of Ghana Post Company currently operates with customers through the Digital Address System to facilitate easy identification and location of addresses, adding that letter boxes had also been introduced in homes.

The Ghana Post MD announced that a commemorative postage stamp embossed with the image of the Asantehene would be unveiled on Valentine’s Day in recognition of the great works of the Asantehene for the attention of its clientele across the globe.

Receiving the management team, Otumfuo Osei Tutu expressed his gratitude for the use of technology to enhance the operations of Ghana Post.

The management members who joined the MD to the Manhyia Palace, included the Board Chairman, Mr. George Afedzi Hayford, Mr. Michael Omari Wadie, Madam Abena Durowaa Mensah, Mr. Alfred Nii Nortey, Mr. Yiadom Boakye Kessie, Mr. Frederick Akuffo Gyimah and Mr. Johnson Asante, Northern Sector Director of Ghana Post.
