Ghana National Gas Limited Company (Ghana Gas) has strongly denied reports alleging that its current management acquired a property at an inflated price, describing the claims as false and misleading while stressing that the transaction occurred under a previous administration.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the state-owned gas company said the property in question, located at No. 225 Osibisa Close, Airport West in Accra was acquired before the current management assumed office.

According to Ghana Gas, the acquisition was subsequently cited in the 2024 Auditor-General’s Report, which made adverse findings regarding the transaction.

The company further disclosed that the matter is currently under investigation by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) and other state investigative agencies.

“Ghana Gas remains fully committed to cooperating with these investigations and is confident that the facts will establish that the current Management had no involvement in the acquisition of the property,” the statement said.

The company urged media organisations and the public to disregard what it described as false publications linking the current leadership to the acquisition and encouraged journalists to verify facts before publishing or circulating such claims.

The statement comes amid heightened public scrutiny over the management of state assets and growing calls for accountability in the use of public resources.

Ghana Gas reiterated its commitment to transparency, accountability, good corporate governance and the prudent management of public funds, saying it would continue to cooperate fully with investigators until the matter is resolved.

The statement was signed by Richard Ernest Kirk-Mensah, on behalf of the company.

The clarification marks the latest effort by Ghana Gas to distance its current leadership from transactions undertaken by previous administrations as investigations into the property

acquisition continue.
