The Chief Executive Officer of Ghana National Gas Company Limited, Ms. Judith Adjobah Blay, has undertaken a strategic tour of industrial facilities in Ghana’s Western Region, deepening engagement with manufacturers reliant on the company’s processed lean gas for production.

The visit forms part of a broader stakeholder outreach initiative since Ms. Blay assumed office a year ago, aimed at strengthening ties with industrial and power-sector off-takers while assessing the operational impact of gas supply on key sectors of the economy.

Ghana Gas, the state-owned company responsible for processing and supplying lean gas for electricity generation and industrial use, plays a central role in Ghana’s energy and manufacturing value chain.

During Tuesday’s tour, Ms. Blay and her management team visited several factories in the Western Industrial enclave to gain first-hand insight into production processes powered by Ghana Gas supplies.

The delegation also inspected company showrooms displaying finished goods produced with energy support from the utility.

The first stop on the tour was Jintao Sanitary Ware Company Limited, a producer of ceramic sanitary products including wash-hand basins and toilet seats. Executives of ceramic tile manufacturer Wangkang underscored the importance of uninterrupted gas supply to sustaining operations, while appealing to Ghana Gas and the government to review current pricing structures in order to enhance competitiveness and lower production costs.

At Twyford Group, described as Ghana’s largest ceramics manufacturer, Managing Director Mr. Li Wei commended Ghana Gas for its continued support to the business.

He also requested additional gas allocations for the company’s new glass production line, currently under construction and expected to commence full operations in August next year.

The Western Region engagement follows a similar familiarisation tour by Ms. Blay in the Tema industrial enclave earlier this year, where she visited major off-takers including Sentuo Oil Refinery.

Industry analysts say the CEO’s outreach signals a stronger customer-focused approach by Ghana Gas at a time when manufacturers are seeking more reliable and cost-effective energy inputs to remain competitive amid rising operating expenses.

The engagements also highlight growing industrial demand for natural gas as Ghana pushes to expand domestic manufacturing capacity and reduce dependence on imports.
