The Fire Trinity Ministry International (FTMI), in collaboration with the George Amoako Alhassan Foundation (GAAF), has donated assorted food items and relief supplies to the Beads of Life Foundation at New Koforidua in the Ejisu-Juaben Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
The gesture formed part of the organisations’ corporate social responsibility and marked the climax of the church’s annual 40-day fasting and prayer programme held at the beginning of the year.
Presenting the items on Monday, March 9, the Founder and General Overseer of FTMI and Chief Executive Officer of GAAF, Apostle Dr. George Amoako Alhassan, said the donation reflected biblical teachings that encourage Christians to care for the less privileged in society.
Quoting from the Book of Isaiah 58:6–8, Apostle Dr. Amoako Alhassan underscored the need for believers to demonstrate compassion toward the needy.
“This is the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke. Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter—when you see the naked, to clothe them… Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear,” he quoted.
He explained that the items were donated by members of the church and other well-wishers both in Ghana and abroad.
The items presented included eight bags of rice, sponges, two cartons of milk, assorted drinks, cooking oil, toilet rolls, a bag of gari and a bag of sugar. Others were biscuits, second-hand clothing, shoes, toffees, detergents, soaps, sachets of milk and Nido, as well as an undisclosed amount of money.
Receiving the items, the Administrator of the foundation, Ms. Doris Agyemang, expressed appreciation to the donors for their continued support.
She noted that Apostle Dr. Amoako Alhassan and his congregation have supported the home for the past 12 years, describing their contribution as a significant source of hope for the children.
Ms. Agyemang also appealed to benevolent organisations, corporate institutions and well-meaning individuals to support the foundation, explaining that many of the children are currently in school and require financial assistance to pursue their dreams.
After the presentation, Apostle Dr. Amoako Alhassan and members of his team interacted with the children, playing football and other games with them.
He further pledged to organise a football tournament and other sporting activities between the children at the home and the Sunday School children of Fire Trinity Ministry International.
