Excavator Driver’s ‘Baby Mama’ Stabs Rival To Death

The Bekwai Magistrate Court,presided over by Mr Joseph Akroful, has remandeda 25 year old fashion designer, Mary Akosua Agyemang into custody for allegedly stabbing to death one Vida Aning, over an excavator driver the two were allegedly dating.

Also remanded into custody were Felicia Sarpong, a 61 year old farmer and Ernest Achirem, 63,also a farmer, for abetment of crime. The duo have been accused of harbouring the suspect in their home after she committed the crime.

Presenting the fact of the case, C/Insp.D.Y Yeboah,the prosecutor, told the court that

on Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023 at Edwinase near Kokotro in the Bekwai Municipality, the late Vida Aning was attacked by the suspect, Mary Akosua Agyemang.

According to the prosecution, a lady had gone to inform suspect Mary Akosua Agyemang that the deceased (Vida Aning) had insulted her.

Akosua Agyeman, upon receipt of the alleged information went and quarrelled with the deceased in her house.

Whilst they were engaged in the ensuing fight, Mary Akosua Agyeman allegedly pulled

a knife and inflicted multiple wounds on the head, mouth and eyes of Vida Aning.

The suspect also stabbed the deceased in the breast. Vida was pronounced dead upon arrival in hospital and her body was deposited in the morgue.

The suspect, after committing the crime, went into hiding until the police arrested her from the residence of Felicia Sarpongand Ernest Achirem – who are currently on remand.

The case has been adjourned to April 26, 2023 to enable the police pursue and arrest the ‘Okro mouth’ who went to inform the suspect that the deceased had insulted her, resulting in the fight and subsequent death of Vida Aning.
