Entire NPP leadership is toothless -Asiedu Nketiah

Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has stated that the leadership of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) is a toothless bulldog.

According to him, the NPP had been collapsed by the attitude and actions of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo long ago on assuming of the flagbearership position.

Speaking on XYZ TV evening show dubbed the ‘Gumbe Show’ hosted by Ohenebah Banie last Tuesday evening, the NDC National Chairman disclosed that, the National Chairman and the General Secretary of the NPP could not even formulate any regulations for the party, because Nana Akufo-Addo would not allow them.

He revealed that the National Chairman, Mr. Stephen Ntim, and the General Secretary, Lawyer Justice Koduah Frimpong, were known products of Mr. Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, for which reason, Stephen Ntim’s aspiration for the chairmanship of the party delayed over the years.

The NDC National Chairman stressed that, President Akufo-Addo saw politics as a game of deception, the reason, he said, he always says something but does different things, and wondered why Ghanaians believed him.

According to him, the President himself was aware that he could not fulfill the promises of “One District One Factory”, “One Village, One Dam” and “One million dollars for One Constituency”, yet Ghanaians believed them and voted for him.

Commenting on the NPP youth that invaded UTV last Saturday night, he noted that he was surprised about the incident, and argued how members of a political party could attack a media house, asking them to change the content of their programme.

He questioned why the management of UTV allowed the NPP government to dictate to them, which situation had emboldened the party to write a letter to them about the content of the United Showbiz.

Chairman Asiedu Nketia wanted to know whether the United Showbiz programme was put together by the NPP government, and whether it had the right to ask the management to change it to favour the party.
