Egypt trying to ‘preserve the Palestinian cause from liquidation’

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has denounced “forced migration” after Israel said it plans to attack Rafah city where more than one million people are living.

Israel says it would evacuate civilians from the Gaza border city and storm it despite allies’ warnings this could cause mass casualties.

“Egypt has adopted a clear stance since the first minute [of the war] totally rejecting the forced migration of Palestinians from their lands to Sinai or any other place in order to preserve the Palestinian cause from liquidation and safeguard Egypt’s national security,” el-Sisi said in a televised speech.
