Did Jindo deserve enough playing time?

Cape Coast Mysterious Ebusua Dwarf’s forward, Jindo Morishita, was adjudged the Most Valuable Player ‘MVP’ after the Japanese exploded on match day 29 against Sky FC in the Division One League.

The striker, who for the first time had the opportunity to play the full duration of the game, gave a good account of himself and justified why the supporters always called for his inclusion in the team.

The skillful player was just a delight to watch as his intelligent play endeared him to the heart of the supporters.

Operating from the right wing, Jindo created a lot of problems for his markers as they could not effectively deal with his speed and tactical runs.

His powerful strike, after taking on his marker struck the woodwork to deny him a goal, but his colleague striker followed the rebound and slotted in for the opener.

A beautiful combination between the Japanese and his team mate made it extremely difficult for the visitors to find their rhythm, especially at the right of Dwarfs’ attack

He was fouled around the 18 yard box when he advanced towards the opponent’s goal area with swift incursion that received applause from the home fans.

Jindo, who was too rumbustious on the afternoon, assisted Dwarfs to grab a second goal from a quick restart to put the game beyond their visitors

Why was Jindo mostly sidelined?

Jindo joined the Crabs during the second round of last season when Dwarfs was playing in the premiership but for unknown reasons, he was mostly kept on the bench

This situation nearly created a psychological problem for the Japanese, who had quickly adapted into the Ghanaian system and was battle ready for the league.

After recovering from Covid 19, Jindo was expected to have enough playing time but the supporters were hugely disappointed as they did not see him live up to that expectation

This followed the decision of coach Kuuku Dadzie to continuously keep him on the bench and denied him the opportunity to showcase his talent

“After I recovered from the Covid-19, I was down with malaria and this also kept me out of the game for a long while, but I gained my fitness later”, He told the Chronicle.

However, his explosion on match day 29 gave an indication that he could have contributed his quota to the success of the club if he was mostly featured.

Businesswise

Ebusua Dwarfs sold a total of 150 replica jerseys of Jindo Morishita to the Japanese community and raked in a lot of revenue in an unprecedented manner.

Additionally, the Japanese community always travelled to Cape Coast to watch Jindo play, but most of them mostly returned disappointed as their idol was not used.

He, has, however assured that should everything work as planned, he might stay with the club and showcase his attributes to the world.
