Baffour Awuah II, occupant of the Kwa Dwapem Stool of Nyinawusu and Abusuapanin Kwadwo Ofori of Denkyira Nyinawusu have dragged Odeefuo Boa Amponsem IV, occupant of the Bankam Stool and Paramount Chief of Denkyira Traditional Area, Nana Ama Ayensua Saara III, Queen Mother of Denkyira Traditional Area to the High Court in Dunkwa-on-Offin.

Other defendants in the suit are E. K. Naanah, who has been described in the statement of claim by the plaintiffs as self-styled secretary to Denkyirahene (3rd Defendant) and Kwasi Bekoe of Denkyira Nyinawusu (4th Defendant).
The Plaintiffs claim against the Defendants jointly for a declaration by the Honourable Court that the stool lands of Nyinawusu, which shares common boundaries with the Stool lands of Manso Nkwanta, Sefwi Anwiaso, Denkyira Obuasi, Nkasawora (Nkutumso), Amansie Jacobu, Denkyira Diaso and the Offin River acquired by the Plaintiffs ancestral parents through conquest and/or discovery is the property of the Denkyira Nyinawusu Stool exclusively and, therefore, the Defendants cannot in anyway lay any adverse claim to the lands.
The plaintiffs are also seeking a declaration of the Honourable Court that since time immemorial, it is a notorious or unblemished fact that, various or respective stool lands of the entire Denkyira, exclusively belong to the respective stools, and not the paramount chief of Denkyira.
They also sought an order of the Honourable Court declaring that any act of the Defendants particularly first and second Defendants asserting ownership to the Plaintiffs ancestral land is unconscionable, unreasonable, illegal, unlawful and a nullity.

The Nyinawusu chief and his Abusuapanin are also seeking an order of the Honourable Court to retrain the Defendants, their representatives, servants, agents, successors, linguists and all persons claiming through them including but not limited to persons mentioned from interfering with, dealing in and/or claiming ownership of the Plaintiffs legitimate ancestral stool land.
Meanwhile, the defendants have denied claims of the plaintiff as contained in their (plaintiffs) Statement of Claim.
They stated that the first Plaintiff has not completed the customary process of installation as Chief of Nyinawusu and is not recognised by the Denkyira Traditional Council.
As a result, the defendants claim the Plaintiffs lack the legal capacity to institute the legal action against them.
The court, presided over by His Lordship Justice Kwame Polley, sits on the matter on July 17, 2026.
