Police in Tema onWednesday August 5, 2026, intercepted 866 (Eight Hundred and Sixty-Six) parcels of substances suspected to be cocaine being prepared for export.
The substances were loaded among sacks of gari and konkonte.
A highly placed source at the Police Headquarters intimated to The Chronicle that at least, three persons including a Dutch national have been arrested to assist with investigation.
They are Gilano Horwin, 31, the Dutch, John Mensah Sabah, 41, and Alhaji Iddris Haruna, 52.
According to the source, at about 2000hours on Wednesday, police had intelligence about a consignment of goods being loaded at a warehouse in the port enclave.
A crack team of policemen drawn from the Tema Regional Operations quickly advanced to the location and met the suspects who were supervising the loading of the goods into a container.
Gilano allegedly admitted they were cocaine and reportedly claimed ownership.
Police investigation ongoing to apprehend members of the syndicate.
