All roads lead to the Jubillee Park in Kumasi, the venue designated for the official outdooring of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as the running mate of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia today.
Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, also known as Napo, would be introduced to the teeming supporters, party executives and residents of Kumasi, which constitutes the stronghold of the party.
The pair would contest the 2024 Presidential elections on the ticket of the NPP in a bid to break “the 8”.
Dr. Mahammud Bawumia last Thursday introduced Napo as his choice for the running mate position to the party hierarchy of the party at the Alisa Hotel in Accra.
As a result, it is incumbent on the flagbearer, who is also the Vice President, to officially outdoor Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh at the ceremony to herald NPP’s campaign.
The ceremony will set the stage for electioneering campaign towards the December general elections.
NPP national executives, party executives, government officials, parliamentarians and supporters are expected to converge and welcome the running mate and the NPP Campaign team in the NPP stronghold.
Meanwhile, the NPP has opened nominations for aspiring candidates to find a replacement for Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as Member of Parliament for Manhyia South.
Five persons have so far shown interest to vie for the parliamentary seat.
Nominations for aspiring parliamentary candidates began yesterday July 8, 2024 and would end today. The election is scheduled for Sunday July 14, 2024.
